I bet you didn't know that Diamond State Chorus is full of great cooks! We have collected fabulous recipes and put them together in a cookbook called "Homemade Harmony" to help us reach Denver next year. Contact us for your copy. These cookbooks make great gifts!
In addition to cooking, we have been performing our hearts out. We've performed in large venues and small. At each performance,we hear rave reviews and yet we are seeking coaching to improve our artistry.
Sylvia Alsbury and Rick Serpico made a fabulous team of coaches and worked in tandem to provide us with input and strategies to hone our craft. After a full day of singing we were physically exhausted but musically energized.
We had the pleasure to sing in a show with the Chorus Of The Brandywine, along with Acapella Pops and Wheelhouse. We enjoyed showing off our trophy, but we really enjoyed wearing sequins and singing harmony.
We had our own Harvest Show, complete with storybook character costumes, props, and jokes. We welcomed children and adults to participate in a costume parade and party games. We performed a show with a fabulous script crafted by our own Lisa Blozis. She took our songs and wove them into a seamless continuum that elicted laughs and applause.
Now we turn our sights towards the holidays and once again we dust off the antlers and the jingle bells and we don our festive garb. We aim to spread cheer throughout the season with numerous performances scheduled at Festival Of Trees, Hagley Museum, and Longwood Gardens - among others. And yet, there is a time that we sing this time of year that always fills my heart because it is so free and easy. At our holiday dinner, we all get together, enjoy a great meal, exchange gifts and cards, and sing. My, we do sing! Our harmonies ring through whatever restaurant we've chosen that year. And people drift towards us, attracted by the sounds, drawn by the rich music.
I love to perform. I truly do. I love wearing sequins and false eyelashes. I love applause and the spotlight. But I have to say that it is this time of year that always reminds me just how much I love to sing! I hope you find joy and happiness and above all harmony, in song and in life.
